This poll is coming out of another thread, 'The Cultural Revolution Tarot' in Tarot Decks.
(I would love to be able to post a link to that thread but don't know how to.)
(It would be great if someone else could please post that link.)

If you read through that thread you will see that some members might prefer that this deck is not included on Aeclectic, out of respect for the millions of people who died and suffered during the Cultural Revolution. A few people have made comments such as 'I never want to see this deck again', 'It repulses me.'.

Other people feel that no matter how the subject matter of a deck is handled, there is no good reason not to include a deck here on Aeclectic.

So over to you, please vote to give an idea of the feelings of the majority.
N.B. This may or may not be taken into account by Solandia who makes the decisions about what gets included on here.

freedom of speech is one of the basic tenets of the country I was born in.

What I like and don't like has nothing to do with that basic freedom.
If you could persuade Solandia to ban this deck, what is next?
Dark decks?
Erotic decks?
Fairytale decks?

THIS

So yes, it should be featured on AT... but given zero stars or maybe a special 'in poor taste' warning symbol.

Please read the thread journeyinghome has provided the link to (thanks journeyinghome!) for some other points of view.

I don't really feel that I'm trying to persuade anyone to do anything, Solandia is free to do whatever she wishes, regardless of this poll.

If you read the other thread, a Moderator (rwcarter), posted that it is perfectly acceptable to set up a poll about this issue, so here we are.

Please do read the other thread to be informed about the discussions that have been taking place regarding this deck, it is quite an unusual situation. As I stated there, I wouldn't mind if it was a dark deck about the Cultural Revolution, it's the misrepresentation of something that was so horrific for so many people.

Anyway, I wasn't intending to do any repetition here of what is over on the other thread. But please, do read that thread, and if you're commenting on this thread I'd be grateful if you could mention if you've read through it. Thanks.

I realize that by running a poll on whether the deck should be included on the site, you are not saying that the creator doesn't have a right to make it. But it still advocates censorship, and I'm not comfortable with that.

And obviously, yeah. It's Solandia's site and she should be the sole person deciding what decks to include. If forum members want to contribute to the deck section, they can submit reviews.

This is a very extreme case, people, of a deck in extremely poor taste. I do not think any of the people who are against featuring this particular deck on AT (I'm one of them) are in favor of censorship of any kind.

And again, as jillkite said, the thread is there, and the discussion is open. Whether this deck is featured or not on AT is less important than to make a point about a deck that makes light of the suffering and death of millions of fellow human beings.

This. I am against censorship.

And not just those, then the Ghetto Tarot cannot be listed....and on and on.

I agree. I voted no.

Yes. If you find it offensive, say so by posting a critical review. Educate others by talking about the reality of the situation, and shine a light on this attempt at revisionist history. Do exactly what the Cultural Revolution tried to stop- truth telling, self-expression, and both moral and intellectual objections to political structures.
