2 Swords and love

elena_jaymz

Hi guys, I got the 2 Swords as the most positive thing I can do in the next months to find a suitable partner.
I'm not sure about its meaning, but what comes to my mind is the need to make a decision, but actually I'm dating none now, that is I don't have to choose between two men at the moment.
I read it may also point to the need to find inner happiness before looking for love, which actually makes sense.

Since I find this card very hard to understand, I draw two clarifiers and got King of Cups and 8 Pents.

I think the King says I need to start visualizing the type of relationship I want, because the more clear I become, the better the chance I'll meet my ideal mate. He says it’s also important to really listen to my own needs and emotions.
For what concerns the 8 Pents, probably it shows there's always something to learn, even in love, that is I still have to learn a lot in love department, so I don't have to be discouraged if I did mistakes in the past.

This is not a whole reading.

What do you think?
Thanks.

I think this may be pointing you toward thinking in terms of a paradox. Don't look for someone and when you least expect it, you'll meet the right person. In the meantime just pay attention to yourself---what your motivations are, what you can offer to yourself in the way of loving thoughts and actions, why you're feeling anxious to find a partner, etc. Once you don't feel driven to find a partner, you'll be happy and it will radiate to others. In that way, you'll be very attractive to a potential mate.

I don't know what question you asked for your clarifiers, but I might take the two of swords to mean that you should not let yourself be distracted, or put off, by superficial qualities in a relationship, or partner. Be blind to these distractors, and follow your real senses, and the vibrations you get.

Thanks Grizabella :)
Your take makes sense, I think too much about the whole thing, I'm a little obsessed, so I need a time of introspection, the card says so.

I see what you mean here, you're right, I tend to ignore how I feel, I pay too much attention to the psychical appearance, instead I have to focus on how a guy makes me feel. This is a mistake I usually make unfortunately.

For what concerns the clarifiers, I asked what the two swords point to, as I think the figure in the card is indecisive between two possibilities.

Well, assuming you used an RW deck, I would say the cards are telling you to ask yourself what your heart TRULY wants. The lady in the card is blindfolded and holding two swords, heavy, that she does not seem to intend to use. She is blocking the entrance of people in front of her as well as not looking head on to her own emotions (not facing the water). The word "relationship" can be a bit vague. What exactly are you trying to achieve and find ? Be honest with yourself, and ready to listen.

I see what you mean here and I agree, I have to listen to what my heart says, to what it truly wants, as you said.

To me it says perhaps you are stressing yourself out thinking about getting a relationship, you're not really sure you want one at the moment, you can do without the hassle, it can wait until you're really ready for another person in your life, which is a very positive place to be in

It also suggests you instinctively know that however much thought you out into it, the reality is that love comes as one of life's clangers, outwith your control...so in a way it's not really a decision you make and hey presto mr right appears

Hi Emma, thank you :)
That's true, on one side I'm overthinking the whole thing, but on the other side I'm aware love will come only when the time will be right.

It's a stalemate until your future partner makes a move. This card shows up for me when someone needs to not push things and stay in a holding pattern for the other half of the party to show up.
