The Little Window Tarot

rogue

I've been interested in pastels for a while, just haven't got around to trying them out yet. I have had a couple of projects on the back burner for a while which oil pastels would be perfect for, now that I think of it. So thank you for our little talk MrsOnePotato. I want you to know that it has been fruitful.

Are you planning to quit after you finish the trumps, or are you going to complete the deck? It seems like it would be a shame to stop when you're on a roll, and I'll bet a publisher would pick up this deck if you pursued it. Your cards have a kind of simplicity that is very attractive and practical. I think the texture makes the cards very approachable, and of course the traditional theme is another plus. Do you have any non-tarot artwork that you've posted online?

Thank you Serena!
It has been a tremendous help to me to have this forum for support and encouragement during the creation process. :)

Hi Lampkin,
Oh good...I'm glad that was helpful. Good luck with your projects! :)

Oh thanks! At this point, I am not planning to go beyond the Majors. This is already taking so long, and I fear I would never finish (and I have other ideas I want to get started on!). I am planning to issue a small, self-published limited edition as soon as the majors are done.

This project was the first serious art project I've tackled since art school, which was over 20 years ago...so, sadly I don't have much of a body of work. I do have these two pieces from college, which I've based the style of the deck on:

An oil pastel drawing:

A silkscreen print:

Thanks for all the kind, encouraging words!

Abstract. I like it. Did you stop doing art for 20 years? What happened?

I've only just found this thread. What delightful cards . . . my first feeling was that they have a great deal of charm. But they're vibrant as well - they have a lot of life in them. I particularly like the Hermit and the Devil and Death and the Tower and . . . well, actually, I like them all!

Nothing particularly dramatic...didn't have space, didn't have time...not really sure where the time goes.

Leaving for a vacation...will write more when I return!

Just a little closer to finishing....

Well, I can't believe the last post I made to my creation thread was almost a year ago. Sigh. But I'm happy to say I've just completed two more cards:

The Wheel of Fortune:

and

Judgement
http://members.aol.com/fiveoakleaves/little_window/lg20.html

That leaves me with only six cards left to finish! And I already have a good start on Temperance and The Emperor...
The whole Little Window deck so far can be seen at:

Plodding along,

I love them! Thanks for posting them!

I know you have probably answered this before but are you going to
do 78 cards or just the 22?
