Tarot Trimming Tools-- Rotary Cutter & Corner Rounder

strings of life

The next great tool is a Corner Rounder that I found also at Amazon. It's called an 'Angle Eater'. It's 'rounding-size' is 'Small'-- 5mm-- and works like a charm! I wrote a Review of it over there. It's $5-bucks plus shipping, (it's not available for free-shipping as it's sold by SuperMart). It's the 'Green' one only! The Red and Orange ones are too big... up to 10mm and will eat too much corner!

'Angle-eater' upside down showing compartment that holds trimmed corner scraps til you pop the lid and dump them out... a real plus!: http://tinyurl.com/2f8vu92
has anyone used a different corner rounder that this one? I've gone through 3 of these, yes 3. They just don't last. All 3 have actually cracked after rounding a few decks each.

I know I'm not being too hard on them. Seriously.

I've gone through 2 or 3 of them myself. Yes, the plastic just isn't strong enough to stand up to repeated deck trimming.... :(

Yes, agreed. The plastic breaks.

I've done some searching online for alternatives, but not extensively. I hate to think a more commercial rounder. I mean, I do trim a lot of decks.

I can recommend this corner rounder:

(No connection with Jetpens other than being a satisfied customer.)

It does three radii (3mm, 5mm, 8mm), has well-defined guide ledges to line up the card, and has a nice, solid feel to it.

I just went through a large Thoth -- 3mm is a lovely radius, I found -- and it didn't miss a beat; every corner perfect.

boy that does look good. And they have fountain pens! I love to write with real ink!

Awesome. This is the one I wanted! Found it in Amazon for about $14.
Gonna trim my Noblet, and Pierre Madenie...... gulp.... makes me a bit nervous! That's 624 cuts...will it last that long? I'll keep you all posted...

This is what I use round the corners of my decks. A bit bulky but it's very heavy-duty (it's a round 2.5" x "3" x 8"). It can cut up to 5 (depending on thickness) cards at a time. got it from a local art store years ago. The lady at the store said people use it for ID-making - one end cuts the horizontal holes for the ID straps, and the other end cuts the corners. You guys might have more luck finding a heavy-duty rounder if you shift the focus of your search from "crafts" "to, well, office supplies? Or maybe add the word "ID" in the search.

I just finished trimming my Druidcraft deck. I had actually trimmed it a while ago but I didn't have a corner trimmer. A couple days ago I found the EK Tools mini corner rounders at A.C. Moore. There is a 1" and a 1/2" tool in the pack for $9.99...plus I had a 50% off coupon. Good deal! Amazon has them too.

I used the 1" trimmer for my Druidcraft. I'm so pleased with the final outcome. I was really hesitant to trim my deck at first but am so glad I did it! I don't plan on trimming many other decks so I can't attest to how sturdy these cutters are.
