My tarot deck A wicked pack of cards

Sasha Laskowsky

Hey! I been working in my tarot deck for a couple of years already and i would love to have some feedback from the users of this forum. I consider this 42 card tarot deck in a finished state and i been already selling it trough etsy, but Im open to opinions, comments and all kind of criticism. So people, here are some photos of the finished deck in its current state. Saludos!

Thanks for the comment. I know the title can be misleading in relation to the book, but I really like The Waste Land. The "a wicked pack of cards" phrase comes from the stanza where Madame Sosostris is making a reading and its a particularly meaningfull part of this powerfull TS Elliot's poem. ;)

...Madame Sosostris, famous clairvoyante,
Had a bad cold, nevertheless
Is known to be the wisest woman in Europe,
With a wicked pack of cards. Here, said she,
Is your card, the drowned Phoenician Sailor...

Hi Sasha! Your deck looks very clean and professional, I'm sure that those 2 years in the making paid off.
I noticed that the majority of cards have some sort of textured background, but the Court cards lack this. Was it done intentionally? (by that, I mean if there was any particular reason behind it or you just wanted them to have a simpler background) :p

Sasha Laskowsky

yeah, i want to make it aesthetically coherent but differentiate the trumps from the court cards, so its easy to remember the meanings trough the color scheme of each card.

Speaking of which, have you also done the minor arcana?

I tought a lot in making a whole traditional deck, but finally I decided for a 42 card deck (Trumps, court & aces). For me, suits 2-10 dont add much to the already set of values defined by the rest of the 42 cards.

In the egiptian underworld, there are 42 Negative Confessions (and 42 Assessors of Ma'at) in the The Weighing of the Heart afterlife judgment.Besides, 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything :)

It's a beautiful, well considered deck. I'm not feeling the strength card though, but other than that I think it looks great :)

Thank for your comments! the Strenght illustration is about the courage required for the annihilation of the ego. But probably I went a little over the top with this one

Annihation of the ego, well I do love that idea, the card makes sense to me now. I think I'm just a bit of a sookie lahlah when it comes to the macabre.
