Book About Jacques Vieville Tarot

Patrick Booker

There is a book in English available about the Jacques Vieville by Patrick Coq:

http://editions-sivilixi.com/en/interpretation-of-the-vieville-tarot/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vieville-t...e_p_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=ACYFBQMWG1P1A4SW0TK7

This is a package including the deck, but you can get the book alone:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/2954498331/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I already have the deck, so that is what interests me. Looks like it is largely intended for divination, but there should be something about the symbolism.

Looks like a pretty nice set. :)

Looks great! I would LOVE this but - erm - I see there's only one copy and it's domestic delivery from France :(

ETA; just tried adding to my basket seeing as they give UK postage rates but it wouldn't accept it.

But does it come from amazon.com with possible surcharge? What I need is for it to be available internationally from amazon.fr or uk!

ETA; just checked amazon france and germany - deck only.

Arrived today, and it looks an excellent little book. It discusses the symbolic meanings of the cards, and would certainly help anyone using the Vieville as a contemplative tool. Indeed it might well be of interest to those using other Marseille decks. Wands are assigned to Air and Swords to Fire. Just off to get my deck to examine the cards as I read the book.

I found this a helpful little book, and I certainly intend to return to it. There is a two volume work upon which it is based that deals more with the symbolic and metaphysical aspects of the deck, but it is in French. The Vieville image of the Devil has a lovely dynamism, quite different to the more static image presented in most Marseille decks. There are interesting comments about reversed cards (pg. 11), arguing that with familiarity, reversed meanings can be detected from context and surrounding cards without physical reversals. As someone who does not use reversals, I quite like this idea.
