Newbie for Lenormand - looking for my first deck

Thanks for your reply. I have contacted the author and she replied that the Technoracle deck has already been sold out :(

I guess I have to see if anyone would like to sell their Technoracle decks second-hand (I doubt if there is anyone who really wants to sell his deck in hand).

Anyway, thanks for all your advice and information.

There is also the Mystical Lenormand deck. It is very nice in my opinion.

The Mystical Lenormand is nice, but the art can throw people off. That having been said, it's probably one of my all time faves.

Piatnik Lenormand and Blue Owl are probably the best for beginners IMO. The images are clear, bright, and traditional. Piatnik has the playing card inserts where Blue Owl has little verses. This is for the English version--if you buy another version, YMMV.

Hell, if push comes to shove, sacrifice a standard playing card deck and draw the appropriate symbols on the proper cards with a Sharpie or something. One guy on FB did this and it came out nicely and didn't cost him anything. I think he said he used an old deck from the kitchen drawer but don't quote me on that. *shrug*

I started with the Blue Owl (Eule Blau (sp?!)) and was fine, but always got a few cards muddled - stars and clouds, for example, and there were some other pairs that looked too alike at first glance. So I asked here and someone (danieljuk, I think) suggested Titania's Fortune Cards which are Lenormand-based though the name doesn't say so. I get on much better with these.

They don't have card inserts, or verses or any wording, or any numbers, and are extremely stark - I like them so far for the very reason than there's nothing to see except the image itself. Pretty colours though.

When I get advanced enough to relate the playing card values to the symbols, I'll have to move on. But for now Titania's are great; the only problem for me is that they're quite big by Lenormand standards, roughly playing card size (nearly 4" x nearly 3") and I rarely have much space clear on the kitchen table(!) but again, I haven't got as far as trying a grand tableau yet. :)

I keep meaning to make myself a practice deck, for my eyes only y'know ;), just basic scribbled pictures with the numbers and playing card equivalents, in a nice small size to suit myself.

I really like Titania's cards. I started learning 5 years ago and switched to Lemormand a month ago. They're so simple, but you're right, a little big. They're not as gentle as Lennies though. Some images can be quite cold. :-/
