The best way to learn is with your spiritual insight and what you sense from each card. Once you are good with that then once you get practice at doing readings things will begin to come to you. As long as you can link up to your cards things will progress onwards. I also recommend doing a journal, that can help you with the meanings. |

I'm a newbie too, and as vague as some of the advice seems, you need to find what works best for you. Like others have said, memorizing is not the "proper" way to learn Tarot. What worked and still works for me: - Bond with the cards, observe and let your mind become one with the images. For example, pretend that you are the experiencing what is going on in the card. Pretend that you are the character or one of the characters depicted in it. Look at the entire scenario and think of what's occurring now, what may happen later and what could have happened before. - Trust yourself. Yes, that word - intuition - Ask questions (in person, online, etc.) - Keep a journal (online or offline; I keep both) - Spend more time with the cards that you are "uncomfortable" and try to come to grips with the concerns you have - Meet other people who are interested in Tarot - Lastly, but most important, enjoy the journey |
