And yes, content should drive your visitors. I like to think of my blog as my online journal (separate from my paper one) that others can read. And, if they want to read it, than that's the ultimate compliment.

Thank you for sharing your knowlegde.
I don't think that have mentioned categories (or did I) Anyway I tried to differentiate between tags and metadata.
I have a few categories and a LOT of tags on my blog(s). I'm trying not to blur them and not have tags labelled the same as categories. I also trying to have quite unambiguous labels for my categories, whereas the tags can be more "lyrical".
