Me and my daughter are coming!

Going to come by train though, because my car is doing this scary noise at the moment and I am convinced a belt is about to go, so I definitely don't want to be doing a 6 hour drive in the one day with it like this! Besides, I think the train will be quite fun. My daughter has never been on a long train journey before, so she'll love it.

It is only about £15 more expensive to go by train and it will take about the same amount of time, so I think it's well worth it. And of course my daughter is under 5 so she goes free!

Is it far to walk from the station? Little legs, and all that...

I'm soooooo excited!!!!

Could I have someone's mobile number in case I get lost?

Not too far from the station; 10 minutes walk for Big People. I am attaching a map. But there are buses... Half the bus site is down just now, rot it.... It is supposed to be 1/2 a mile to walk to Debenhams.

City 3 seems to be your best option, and get off at New Inn Hall Street. (BTW New Inn Hall Street ISN'T named on the map I just uploaded. It's the one with St Peter's College on it.)

Don't you still have my mobile number ? If yours is the same as it was when you came up here, I should still have yours, so I will text you and then YOU will have MINE anyway !

Brilliant! Think we'll walk it, but good to know there is a bus

I thought I had your number, but then when I came to look for it in my phone I couldn't find it. Mine is still the same I think. If the number you have for me ends in an 8, then it's the right one!

Should be there around 11.30, but there are plenty of trains so if we miss the one I am aiming for we will be along a bit later. Or, knowing me, we will be MILES too early and end up wandering the streets of Oxford for an hour waiting for everyone!

Ok, Team Tarot. We're NOT going to the Nosebag; the manager was really unhelpful and refused to let us have a table over lunchtime at all.

Instead, we're going to the really nice, helpful and friendly The Vaults and Garden http://www.thevaultsandgarden.com/ who have food options for all, a nice cafe area and beautiful grounds we can sit out in if the weather is good. Hope that works for everyone. It's still not an official booking - I don't think such a thing exists in Oxford on weekends - but if we arrive for 11.30 the lady was confident we'd get a table and happy for us to linger (so long as we keep snacking and have some lunch, of course!)

Oh - OK.... She IS OK for YOU, is she ?

Best PM everyone about this...

Anna - that means stay on your bus to stop K2 on the chart - probably CALLED Radcliffe Square or Queen's College - and that walk is noticeably longer for the little legs...

I think we'd be fine with this - anywhere where the folks are friendly and the food is good
I've ee-d Jes about it as she's not coming here at the moment - on final re-write and hand-in countdown! But she might make it, I don't know.

Thank you Est x

Sorry for the extra PM work, greggers. I was really surprised at the Nosebag - the manager had such a cold, rude voice and really didn't care at all. Maybe it's changed hands since last time.

On the plus side, the Vaults was so nice I thought we'd go there whatever, but luckily it turns out they always have one vegan option... and vegan cake! I told the lady she might have to forcibly evict me at the end of the day

PW - fingers crossed about Jes. It would be lovely to see her again if she has time
