JMD's Reading the Marseille Tarot- Chapter 4, La Papesse

swedishfish612

Moving on (after quite a hiatus! lol) to Chapter 4- La Papesse!

Exercises in this chapter:

- reading a short passage of your choice and meditating upon it- p. 66

Possible points of discussion- These are just some of the things touched on in this chapter, but free to discuss anything that comes to mind after reading this chapter!

- Why a Papesse? Could this image be of Pope Joan or the Virgin Mary?

- her gaze- especially in comparison to Le Bateleur. His is designed to distract attention away from what he is really up to; hers appears to be on of concentration.

- Is she holding a book? Is she weaving a tapestry?

- comparing her crown to others in the deck

I'm sorry I've been MIA from our threads...from AT in general, lol! We've just had a lot going on over here. But I'm hoping to get back into my Marseilles studies. Hope you are still with me!

Hey SF thanks for getting this going again. Not only have I been MIA too, but I found the e-book version of JMD's book to be surprisingly annoying once I really tried to study it. Need to save my pennies for a hard copy--but will manage in the meantime:rolleyes: Hope to jump back in on the weekend. Cheers!

I now have the book, just in time to see everybody go off on vacation, apparently....
