Oooh that's very interesting. I've never thought of them that way. Although I would say that I see feminine/ yin qualities as representing the idea of yielding rather than being passively acted upon, so still choosing/ engaging in the act of sex but as receiving.
I've consistently seen both the ace of pentacles and wands to signify sex. The wand is clearly phallic, the pentacle as representing the tangible, touch, taste, embracing, physical doing, and with the ace a physical beginning. I've seen the ace of pentacles represent other things also but these are mostly listed already.
I also associate pentacles with the commitment aspects of relationships. But that's another conversation.
