Yes! The left hand isn't even touching the Lion's jaw. I've commented recently that, in the TdM versions, the Woman doesn't seem to have to exert herself very strenuously because the Lion seems cooperative. I happened to come across that same thought in one of the books I just read, so I guess it's not an uncommon observation.
Here you might think the cat is almost comically subduing the dog, but I like to think the cat is knighting or blessing it, imbuing the moment with some sort of spiritual significance (these are pagan cats after all).
I'm really looking forward to the full version of Rachel Pollack and Robert Place's Raziel Tarot, partly because I *love* the Strength card featuring the Queen of Sheba.
I like the Strength card from the Hanson-Roberts Tarot...the woman isn't FORCING the lion to do anything, she appears to be SOOTHING it into a state of relaxation...achieving the same overall result with a less violent method.
