where to read please? commercially ethically

nuttyprofessor

In case of commercial reading, I think this is only ethical when the tarot reader is able to tell things that only the querent could know. If not, you are relying on the naiveté of the person, who is so kind to put his belief into tarot.

Lately someone here told that she didn't see any street tarotist anymore. It could be that tarot is getting a bad name, because of the commercialising.

I think that's a street thing; there are LOADS of reading sites. As I'm not that interested, it's not something I follow, but people here work for quite a few, and I hope someone will offer a few names soon.

Names that spring to mind are facade, keen, kasamba and didilabs.

I know nothing of how they are to work for, though. I don't see why it's unethical to do this at all, though, nutty.

AFAIK you're not permitted to sell "services" on ebay, including those of spiritual nature (eg tarot readings). It came in about 5-10 years ago.

You ARE able to sell rings. Whether you can legally market them with hoo-joo spin like "imbued with spiritual blessings from my late grandmother" is up for debate with eBay - you'll need to look into their T&C. It could be that it's quite legal (although may not be ethical. But who knows? Maybe it really IS a magical ring and grants 3 wishes...)

EBay its strange many list I see no ban for them.yes says intangible yet many email readers. Not sending in post so not intangible. I see intangible as seller selling fake genie items.
I think penalising wrong people.
Thank you,
Intangible means something that isn't actually there. Not a physical object. Something you can't touch. Nothing to do with being fake. The wind is intangible, for instance.

I see many advertisements for tarot readings on Etsy. Etsy is a much nicer platform than Ebay.

You can read through your own website, through facebook or other social media...
Or in-person.
There's nothing wrong with getting paid, though. In fact, my morality demands it.

This is correct it's primarily an auction site, a buy and sell site of actual goods. Unfortunately tarot readings do not come under that heading, though l have seen readers try to sell their services there.

As mentioned by others there are plenty of proper reading sites that you can look into. Good luck!

Try Etsy. When Ebay no longer allowed services to be sold on their websites Etsy specifically said they were open to having readers move their shops there. I use Etsy and the listing fees are much more reasonable than Ebay's ever were.

You're not wrong to charge for your readings. You take time and effort to do them, if you want something in return you're entitled to it.

Thank you I would have a lot to learn making blogs never understood the technicality of it all its new technology. I will have to look into a blogging course . Etsy sounds an easier option? Than eBay. I wouldn't charge someone unhappy with a read. Yet cant please all ID want to be honest and a kind reader.

Phone readings not for me right now as no second phoneline.

I'm sorry you have had such a bad time Mizgrace :(
I would try Etsy as well, I don't know what the competition is like. I have to say buying random readings on there that they turned out awful! I have lost trust with the readers on it but they do make insane claims and channelling this person or from this spiritual place! I think I was unlucky who I picked and everyone seems to have good reviews and ratings, even when they are not a good reader. I would really only get a reading on etsy now from someone on AT because I would trust them to be true. I know lot's of AT people have shops there.

My main suggestion is to advertise on AT. Personally I do buy readings if I want a pro reading from my AT friends because a/ I want to support them and b/ I trust them more. If you take a subscription out (even the smallest window of it) you can make a thread in the advertisements section advertising your readings and / or a website / etsy if you have it. You can't do the readings in the thread, so might be worth making a website or etsy shop. Some people cleverly keep updating their thread and so say special offer this week or something unique. Grizabella does the first 10 readings of the month for half price or something like that. I am not sure how much traffic and trade you can get from here but I have seen quite a few people use the advertising section. If you can get some regular customers from AT it would be a lot better than your current experience. This is the area. Only current subscribers can post but everyone can view the posts.
