~ Your personal version of the Celtic Cross

starrystarrynight

I sometimes do the Double CC to get more depth to a reading:

*******5/16 *********10/11
4/17 ***1/20***6/15****9/12
*******2/19
*********************8/13
*******3/18***********7/14

1/20 - Problem
2/19 - Crosses
3/18 - Base or Foundation
4/17 - Past Influences
5/16 - Crown or Goal
6/15 - Immediate Future
7/14 - Where Seeker is Now
8/13 - Views of Others
9/12 - Hopes and Fears
10/11 - Outcome

I would like to try that Triple Cross, though...I think I will experiment and will probably lay it this way:

**********5/16/25 ***********10/11/30
4/17/24 ****1/20/21***6/15/26***9/12/29
**********2/19/22
****************************8/13/28
**********3/18/23************7/14/27

In other words: Lay it out cards 1 through 10, then backwards--cards 11 through 20, then forwards again--cards 21 through 30. Then I'd read each of the cards 1 through 10 with the others as if they were extensions or clarifiers of the first round. Sort of each card as its own little spread...and then tie the whole thing in together. Maybe too confusing and possibly unnecessary, but worth looking at!

My CC
..........5..........10
....4..1/2..6......9
..........3...........8
.......................7

This is my spread. An easy way I learned to lay it out, for any nubies, or "memory challanged folks" like me.....

1....This is you
2....This is what "covers" you
3....This is what is at the heart of the matter (deep inside)
4....This is behind you
5....This is above you (reaching for)
6....This is in front of you (near future)
7....This is how you see yourself and/or the situation
8....This is how others see it (the energy around you)
9....This is your greatest hopes &/or fears (& they can be the same thing)
10....This is the outcome
10 & 6 can be read together and usually sums it up.....

My humble ontribution.....

This is the way I learned, but I have replaced my own take below:

7...Why are you asking the question?
8...What others are thinking of you
9...What you think about others
10 & 2 Outcome cards (with the 2 affecting it either for bad or good.

This is interesting. This is to be explored. So you don't look at, this is your past this is your present etc. you know what i mean.??
You want to share this with us? I'ts like you just take a general interpretation of the whole picture of the spread..???

LOL I dont' know how to explain it. I just read what I see. I don't say this is the past...this is the future. I just ummm say whatever comes to mind. You mean to tell me know one else does this?

My New CC

I have to admit, I don't enjoy the traditional CC. spread. But along comes this variation, with a numerology twist and I have to say, my readings are far more accurate. My hat or Chapeau is off to Fulgour and La Véritable Croix Celtique. Very cool indeed!! :) I have adopted it and use quite a bit now.

Interesting spread Baroli. I think I'll try it out!

Celtic Knowledge Spread

I changed things quite a bit but honestly I don't use mine or the 'normal' CC spread. Way to vague and you end up with more questions than it answers. I prefer more question specific spreads.

The Person .. The Problem .. The Possibilities
...... 1 ................. 4 .................. 10 ........
...... 2 ................. 5 .................. 09 ........
...... 3 ................. 6 .................. 08 ........
................................................ 07 ........

The Person
1.) The seekers mental and emotional state
2.) Past Influences [that brought them to this state]
3.) Outside influences [that brought them to this state]

The Problem
4.) Heart of the Matter [Current Situation]
5.) Challenges/Opposing Factor/s [NegPD]
6.) Root Cause of the Problem/Situation [NegPD]

The Possibilities
7.) Advise/Guidance [or Hopes and Fears]
8.) Goal or Purpose [Possible Alternate Future]
9.) Probable Future [if you stay on your current path]
10.) Probable Outcome of Current Situation

NegPD = Negative Positional Dignity Position

Positioning the cards as above makes doing elemental dignities much easier.

hi everybody! my two cents about celtic cross...

hello-

here's my standard celtic cross that i use for nearly everything:

the cross:

1) querent/situation at hand
2) energy which is coming into play and crossing this
3) the root of the situation
4) the recent past
5) what crowns the situation (the querent's intention, or what can be aspired to)
6) near future

the staff:
7) the situation (another card to describe the situation or querent...)
8) what is coming from the outside world... external pressures or support
9) hopes and fears (sometimes i call this "cosmic advice")
10) outcome

sometimes i add 1, 2 or 3 extra cards, with titles like "advice from angels" or "clarification" or "further outcome"

i also appreciate fulgour's invention, but i haven't used it personally yet.

i guess i'm pretty stuck on my ways!

i HAVE done double or triple celtic crosses, though, they do help me understand the situation better... but it requires a certain blurring of the vision to blend the cards into one essence!

happy celtic crossing!
hope someone finds something useful in my comments...
sincerely,
serendipity

i guess mine's pretty classic, almost nearly the same as ruby red slippers!

nodntap, i have only heard the elemental dignities idea tossed around a few times... do you know of any threads which delve into this concept further?

i think i am only familiar with it intuitively, it not having been something i have read in books

Not on this forum. But then I don't spend much time here so there may be something on ED's somewhere. ED's = Elemental Dignities.

See:
http://www.tarotmoon.com/articles/Elemental_Dignities/elemental_dignities.html

Or Teresa Michelsen's book [which the above was written by] 'The Complete Tarot Reader'. The book says pretty the same thing since the web page was what was added to her book. But it's an excellent book in my opinion - except for a few of her associations which I don't agree with. i.e. Air for the rank of Knight as its secondary elemental association. But you/others might agree with this association and a few others in the book that I don't agree with. She tells you to use, make up your own - so do it, [g].
