In looking through lists of spreads, one that kept standing out to me is Robin Wood's "Short Five". However, the positions weren't always the most useful for me. Here's the positions as I have been using them:
1. Significator - As in the original, signifies the question, not the querent.
2. What Was - The immediate past, not just "background".
3. Himself - As in the original.
4. What Will Be - The immediate future, rather than "surroundings".
5. What He Ought - Specific instruction, not simply an "answer".
