9 Card full deck spread?

I had a reading done which used the whole deck on a 9 card spread. She kept placing cards on each position until a card was giving a specific message for that reading. Quite accurate and interesting spread. I think she reads intuitively but also on some set meanings. the middle card seemed to be the central card for either me as the querent, or an important person that showed up in the reading, etc..
I was wondering if anyone here uses or has used this type of spread and how you work it?
