Marvel Tarot Deck

I'm trying to brainstorm a tarot deck using characters, elements, and events from Marvel.

First, let me say others have played with this idea before here http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=50857
and here http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=4526
but these haven't had activity in years.

There is also relevant discussion in these threads, although their focus is different:

With all the attention the Marvel world is getting due to the popularity of the Marvel films, it seems high time to pick up the project again.

I myself am a huge MCU fan, but my need for a Marvel tarot deck was first inspired by Stephanie Hans' artwork for a cover of Journey into Mystery: http://ne0nic0.tumblr.com/post/23918928955/i-love-symbolism-okay

This led to me gathering as much Stephanie Hans Marvel artwork as I could to try and build a deck out of, but I soon realized 1) I would need to broaden my search to other artists, and 2) I didn't know nearly enough about tarot. Six months of self-study and internet scavenging later and I ended up here.

The project idea is this: a tarot deck with as much of the meaning per card as possible allegorically or symbolically conveyed through Marvel imagery. Not necessarily a rolladex of popular Marvel identities, but rather whatever images, figures, or whatever best convey the spirit and meaning of the card. If I made this deck right now on my own it would be mostly characters from Thor, Daredevil, and Deadpool comics, and the MCU, but I'm hoping it ends up being slightly more well-rounded.

It's a funny idea. Superheroes are representing Archetypes, too.

Yeah, it's why I'm surprised this hasn't already been done commercially. I mean, I gueuss DC did the Vertigo deck, and there's the limited Tarrochi Marvel, but I'd think there was way more since superheroes and tarot fit so well and obviously together.

yes!^^ like superheroes are good!^^ and X men deserve their own deck!^^ ;)) I would go for mayors first!^^ :))))

Great idea! Might I suggest the lovely picture Stephanie Hans did of Dani Moonstar for the Moon card? Dani's original powers were to create illusions from peoples fears and desires. Very Moony. :)

Since these are copy-righted characters and copy-righted art, I think that you would have to make it strictly for personal use.

Yep, you have it there. More of a fan composite project. To be honest I didn't realize people did their brainstorming or development for any commercial decks here.
