Which Lenormand to purchase?

BoomVoom

What i read was that non of the decks had anything to do with mell. Lenormand.
aprently she had written some documentation on how to read cards.
what i beleive is that the peutit lenormand came out before the grand jeu.
it came out in a small set because during the period in wich mell. Lenormand read cards the most popular deck was for playing a game which excluded cards 2-5 of each sute. (forgot the name of the game, but its quite well known)
so the card publishers asumed that this was the type of deack she would have read with.
the others came along with the increas of popularity of fortune telling cards.

by the way i'm just saying what i heard...
i'm not saying it's the gospal truth.

MM ~ That sounds about right, or it's the conventional wisdom as far as most of us know! I've heard of the game, too - was it euchre? Or was that a 32 - card game? Doesn't matter. I imagine the way the whole thing started was with regular cartomancy, i.e. reading playing cards, and just adding a picture to help people remember. In the system I use, the playing card meanings are different, but if you've ever sat with several books with conflicting tables of playing card interps, well, you can see that everyone has their own way of doing things. Mlle.'s seems to have been very effective! BB, Stella
