Early Cartomancy in Germany

Ah thanks and ah shuchs -- I did a search on wol and spinnen but there was lots of results -- if I hadn't had to go out to rehearsals I would have chased it down soon enough. As suspected, the (Wahrsagen/Fortune-teller) is an editor/translator erroneous interpolation.

Huck

The problem with this quote Huck is the book it comes from, and more precisely its author Frédéric de la Grange pseudonym of Paul Christian or Jean-Baptiste Pitois, a very imaginative graphomaniac, as you certainly already know, and someone who can't always be trusted.

No, I didn't look the author up. Maibomius proved to be a real person , so I would assume, that also Schwabergen (likely a name writing error) should have been also a real man. But I doubt, that he wrote about good times for cartomancy, but about good times for divination. Likely he's not the only one who gave such suggestions. Likely for our perspective not really interesting.
