Trimmed Thoth.

Lillie

I'm here to eat my words.

I always thought the people who were raving about trimmed Thoths were exaggerating.

Why change it? I thought.
Is it not good enough in it's natural state?
Would you draw a tash on the Mona Lisa?
Isn't this actually some kind of weird heresy?

But finally I decided I had to see for myself.
And someone gave me a trimmed one. (Thank you)
Trimmed perfectly, hexagram included.
Corners rounded,
They look like they were born like that.

And yes.
Everyone who said they were stunning like this....
You are right.
They are stunning.
They are incredible.

I'm gobsmacked by them.

I eat my words.
I was wrong.....

Scion

Not wrong, sweetheart, just not ready at the time.

It's like meeting an old lover for the first time in many years: all new but so familiar.

Very happy you found your trimmed deck...

I got one in a trade a month or so ago and I think it's gorgeous too.

When I'm ready to learn to read with a Thoth deck, that will certainly be the one I use :)

Lillie

:)

Thank you Scion. You know how I hate to be wrong....

Mind you, if I met a fair few of my old lovers I would shoot them...

But the deck is lovely, and yes, that newness and familiarity.
I went through the whole deck and called all the minors by their names, just to be sure I knew them and didn't need the word.
Cos I do like those names, I always have.

Sulis,
Give it a go!
It's a great deck.

There must be a way to trim them just right and get the rounded corners. It probably involves sanding the edges. I'd really like a trimmed Thoth, but it seems like so much work. I don't like the flash card names. It's like they insult your intelligence. Why don't they just print borderless Thoths?

Grigori

Welcome to the world of the trimmed Thoth-ers Lillie. I'm very glad you've joined us, and extra glad you didn't have to do the trimming yourself (not that its hard, its just boring  )

*yay*

Lampkin....

You need to ask Debra how to trim and round the corners.

She is the master.

It's hard to look at mine and not think they were made like that.

im probably going to be labeled as a noob for the next few lives... but what does "trimmed" mean?

Scion

No need to apologize. :)

Trimming refers to removing the borders (and in the case of the Thoth, the keywords) from a deck.
