OMG! Key To The Kingdom reprint!!

Ilithiya

Tony Meeuwissen's Key To The Kingdom is in the reprint process!! If you haven't seen this, you ought to... I have the book from the 1992 print and I've been dying for these cards! It's a standard playing deck, but each card has a different illustration and an accompanying riddle...

Imagine the kinds of playing card spreads you could do with these!

Ooooh! That's so nice to hear!

I adore these cards!
Had bought them way back when (because they had a "treasure hunt" contest asscociated with them!)

I use these most often when I want a nice playing card deck to do fortune readings with!

I have a few other "transformation" decks...but this one is gorgeous!

Those do look interesting....

Does anyone know where we can find close-up pictures of the cards???

Thanks! :)

Wow another one sitting in my Amazon account waiting to be released so I can order it :D

Emily

Yep, I must admit - I've just gone and pre-ordered this deck - and I was doing so well :D

WOW....those are REALLY nice, unique.....

And yes....also sitting in my amazon shopping cart, hehehe! })

Now....if only they would do a reprint of the Alchemical....*sigh*

BTW, these are based on Transformation Cards...

Here's some 1805-1811 style decks that R.Somerville stocks:

The Goethe one looks gorgeous and old-fashioned.

I thought this was updating a very Victorian-style novelty, but beautiful and interesting variations...I found an original version of the Keys to the Kingdom used and wondered if I wanted to write stories about these...

I am eager to see what people do with these decks. The original deck I have is so tightly packaged, I'm afraid I'll split the little box and resist handling it...

Oh, and two Toscana decks in a set available at Flax:

Lovely...think of your 'fortune-telling fun' and solitaire.

How Delightful!!

I still have my original cards, and adore them. I lost the book a long time ago, though.
It is sooooo tempting to order a new set, under the pretense of getting a copy of the book.......})
Then I would feel free to wear out my original deck, LOL

I finally ordered the Goethe from Somerville and expect to get it in 3 weeks or so. I have been interested in transformation decks since Pete Wood did his 2,000 Pips and Wild decks (which I haven't bought yet since Newt's Novelties has the most outrageous shipping to Canada.)

I have the Key to the Kingdom on my Amazon wish list and intend to buy it with the Golden Tarot of Klimt in November. I was very impressed with the artwork and the way the cards had been "transformed" and appreciate that it was mentioned on the board.
