Playing card ID?

Does anyone know who produces the playing cards that have a windmill on the Ace of spades? I found a very old/used deck of cards at my work but there are no copyright marks anywhere.

What are the backs like? Colour?

Cornflower blue all over pattern within a border. They have a central wheel/disk design about the size of a nickel. I don't think they are antique or anything, but it is strange that the maker isn't named on the Ace. The face cards are similar to other decks but with thinner lines... almost sketchy.

I had a look at some playing card sites, vintage ones as well, but there are so many designs of playing cards around that without some kind of printers or publishers name or marks of any kind you might never be able to find out who made these cards.

Does the windmill feature on any other cards?

Nope. Just on the Ace. I'm wondering if they may have come from a casino, the guy who used to work here (15 years!) was a big gambler.

I guess it doesn't matter but I do get curious about things like that. I'll try to get a scan of the Ace and the back posted this evening.

Ah Ha! I do believe you are right :D (does happy dance)Thank you so much!
There aren't any jokers left, just the basic set of 52 and no box either. Some years back, there was a Canadian exchange student who worked here for a bit, so they may have belonged to him. (Lucky guy now works in video game design!)
