A question about Jean-Baptiste Alliette (Etteilla)

Noelle

On wikipedia – I am aware anyone can edit information here – there is an image that is identified as Etteilla ca 1760. While doing some unrelated (I use the term loosely) research yesterday and noting a reference to St. Germain I went looking for more information on the web. The image referred to as Etteilla on wikipedia is the same image that is also identified as Count St. Germain on several web sites.

Any thoughts anyone?
Is there an authentic source somewhere where one can view an image of Etteilla, or are there simply none?

You're right, that picture at Wikipedia is St. Germain.

There's a small picture of Etteilla at Tarotpedia. Images of him seem to be pretty rare.

Thanks Abrac. That’s what I thought. What a pity there aren’t any better images of Etteilla in circulation.

... :) ... perhaps somebody wished, that St. Germain was identical to Etteilla?

Hello Huck,

The 2nd image you posted above appears on 2 separate wikipedia web pages - i.e. under Etteilla and Count of St. Germain. This means one of two things - one of the wikipedia entries is wrong (most likely) or Saint Germain put in an appearance as Etteilla.

.... just clarifying.
