Reversed eight of swords as feelings

Hi, i got a eight of swords rx as to how someone feels about me. Just to give you a background he has been sending mixed signals for few months and suddenly announced everyone he's got a girlfriend. Does this mean he feels free from our relationship(?) and focusing on his gf now? Help!
