songs that represent tarot cards

Haunted Wood

Hope this is the right forum to post this in. There have been a few times where I've been listening to a song and for fun I've tried to think of what tarot card it could represent. I've only come up with a few:
The Moon - 'The last time I saw Richard' Joni Mitchell
What do you guys think? A good song for the moon?

What do you think this song represents:

(Sarah Mclachlan's 'I will remember you') I was thinking judgement, maybe? Don't know really.

6 of cups - 'There is no such place' Augie March

I don't know, the song just seems nostalgic to me.

The Lovers - 'The Bridal Train' The Waifs
The video clip, because you have to hear the song to feel the emotion...and the Australian accent ;) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k7OncTVHkI

A telegram arrived today,
It’s time to catch the Monterey
'Cause the man I wed, he waits for me
And the daughter that he's yet to see

US Navy beamed its message,
Will deliver brides on a one way passage
It made big news across the nation
The bridal train leaves from Perth station

All the girls around Australia
Married to a Yankee sailor
Your fare is paid across the sea
To the home of the brave and the land of the free

From west to east the young girls came
All aboard the bridal train
It was a farewell crossing of her land
She's gone to meet her sailor man

No time for sad goodbyes,
She held her mother as she cried
And then waited there in the Freo Rain,
To climb aboard the bridal train

Well she was holding her future in her hand
The faded photo of a man
Catch a sailor if you can
The war bride leaves her southern land

All the girls around Australia
Married to a Yankee Sailor
Your fare is paid across the sea
To the home of the brave and the land of the free

From west to east the young girls came
All aboard the bridal train
It was a farewell crossing of her land
She's gone to meet her sailor man

This is the story of those starry nights
Through desert plains and city lights
Through burning sun and driving rain
She wept aboard the bridal train

All the girls around Australia
Married to a Yankee sailor
Your fare is paid across the sea
To the home of the brave and the land of the free

From west to east the young girls came
All aboard the bridal train
It was a farewell crossing of her land
She's gone to meet her sailor man

This is actually a true story, there were many Australian women who fell in love with American soldiers/sailors in world war 2 and after the war ended, there was a 'bridal train' to get them to sydney so that they could catch a boat to america. I just thought it really reflects a hard choice made for love. Kind of bittersweet.

Anyone else have songs that remind them of certain cards? If you do please share! :)

Music and Tarot Cards

Curious said:
When I explained to my husband one interpretation of The Lovers card (choice), he immediately jumped on his computer and started playing Lovin Spoonful's "Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind." The words to this song are so fitting! Has anyone else come across this type of connection?

You can hear this song at:

In late April, I made the above observation about Tarot cards and songs.

Great idea for a thread. I often think of Tarot cards when I'm listening to music. It helps me get better remembering what they mean to me. I should really get into the habit of writing them down when they pop into my brain... note to self... :)

I link Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer" with the 9 of Wands. Especially this verse:

"In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down or cut him
til he cried out in his anger and his shame
I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains
Yes he still remains"

Just putting this here because I don't know where else to... don't think it would merit a separate thread. Lately, Green Day's song 'Scattered' reminds me of reading tarot in general.

Open the past and present
Now and we are there
Story to tell and I am listening
Open the past and present
And the future too
It's all I've got and I'm giving it to you
