So basically amazon is just proposing those two books without knowing that it is the same! Which is bad for those who WILL buy the two!

Either they don't know or they do and it's just a cynical marketing ploy, a "Caveat emptor" move.

My impression is that those "Frequently Bought Together" offers are entirely computer-generated. No human thought processes involved.
