I Googled 'hebrew spelling of yod' and it was, surprisingly, in the first entry: 'The Letter Yod - Hebrew for Christians'. (Not a bad web site, by the way.)Thanks, I tried to find one but I got lots of pictures of iodine (yod in Hebrew).
Iodine, as we all know, burns like fire on cuts, so there's another connection.
