La Place stands at the crossroads. He holds a machete in his right hand and drips water from his left hand to fall over the blade. The water forms a puddle in the middle of the crossroads. The puddle obscures the crossed paths only one, true path? The background is dark (night?).
La Place’s eyes seem to be obscured by long lashes/brows (similar to Petro—Hounsis) not relying on what can be seen? More intuitive, “feeling”? Left hand/water = receptive, intuitive. Right hand/sword=reason, logic. Raised left hand = importance of emotion over logic…FEELING your way instead of REASONING your way.
The machete blade is triangular Holy Trinity mind/body/spirit. The crossroads form the shape of a crucifix. Bottom part of crucifix is the body, main support.
La Place’s left foot is on the largest part of the crossroad, near the middle; the big toe of his right foot is touching this part too. He’s already on the path, but just confirming decision. Emotion tempered by logic. Intuitively taking a step walking by faith, not by sight.
Lots of blue in this card cool, calm, but not moving or soul-stirring; not much physical movement.
