Red, the color of power and nobility, is very present here. The apples of the Empress are back but this time they're red and they seem to be dropping blood and it's pouring in the background. The Emperor bears twice the symbol of the card Aries with two rams, one as a jewel and the other as his royal scepter. He looks severe, he cannot afford to take side yet he has to bend wills to keep control of his court. He also looks weary, he is committed for eternity to his position and he cannot take breaks, relax or retire, and he cannot show any weaknesses. The drops of blood on him may be signs of those he had to kill to get there and those he has to kill to stay there.
