Best decks for a beginner?

Ginmore

Hello everyone!

I'm new to tarot and want to expand my collection. I was hoping someone could suggest the best decks for a beginner.

I currently have the Rider Waite Smith deck and Doreen Virtues angel tarot deck.

I like Doreen's deck but it's very big and hard to shuffle and was hoping for something smaller or regular sized.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the Gilded Tarot and have found it very easy to read. It was my first physical deck (my first virtual deck was by the same artist, Tarot of Dreams, and I also found that one very easy to connect to).

I think decks with with clear imagery are the easiest to read as a beginner. You can spend some time browsing and see what looks easiest for you to decipher.

I have the Gilded Tarot. It is an afforable deck, can often be found in a Kit called Easy to Read Tarot (amazon and eBay have it). It is a lovely deck, and easy to read. Its bright, each suit has a different colour attached to it, which I found lovely .. Card stock I thought a little thin, but apparently its normal. I did not look at the intro book that it came with .. but it did have some guide reader cards also.

Thank you both! I'm placing my order on Amazon as I type :)

There are so many of them. But just to name a few more:

Llewellyns Classic, Robin Wood, Golden (Kat Black), Morgan Greer...

Thank you!

I will be going on Saturday to take a look at some and will check these out as well. I'm looking to buy 3-4 more decks. :)

Well, it really depends on what you like? :) Do you like computerized art, feminine art, bright colors, muted colors, art deco, romantic style...? There's really at least one deck out there for any weird taste lol.

Some of my favorite decks I have used and still love, that I feel fit a beginner very well are these:

Crystal Visions http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/crystal-visions/
Fantastical http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/fantastical/
Robin Wood http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/robin-wood/
Steampunk by Moore http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/steampunk-fell/

Good luck and have fun on your shopping spree! :D
