Interesting ... never heard of this.

It's also name of a trilogy of Carl Orff, in the domain of music. The "Carmina Burano" belongs to it.

8 pages added / iconography section

http://trionfi.com/0/i/

has 8 new pages (at the bottom of the menu / group: other motifs).

Of special interest are the 18 heroes. This is a standard motif in German iconography, it was produced more than once. Also the 12 Apostel, also virtues, also artes liberales (look really like Tarot cards), all standard motifs - in each there are more than artists, who engraved them.

Museum updated / News reformed

The Museum got 1000 decks imported and a new organising list, from which each deck is callable by one link, which is a great organistorial improvement, as any deck becomes citeable in a short way.

Funny enough, the great list can be used as an Oracle ... :-) just drag a deck, not a card ...

well, a long name, perhaps I should change this to a short-cut.

The Tarot News will be reformed. There is an interest in persons who might wish to get a sort of an independant reporter state. The concept is shown:

for the moment

Iconography is renewed and updated

The improvements in the Iconography section have reached a new stage, now there are 14 trumps - each in around 200 different versions - available to look at.
Although this version will not be the final edition - in the end all 78 motifs should be reivable - it's already rather comfortable.

See the introduction (Tarot News)

or jump in:

http://trionfi.com/0/i/c/02 -- Papessa
http://trionfi.com/0/i/c/03 -- Empress
etc.

Observe also the compare-function, that makes it possible to see two cards at once.

SEARCH FUNCTION for MUSEUM

Proudly I announce the installation of a database with about 3600 playing card decks ... and now with a still rough SEARCH FUNCTION.

http://trionfi.com/0/s/k/

If you search - for instance - Tarot in Russia: Fill the name field with "Tarot" and the country field with "Russia". If you search Fortune telling decks. Type Fortune in the name field. If you search a very specific topic: type the name of the topic in the name field.

This installation was only possible by the cooperation of various persons.

We need perhaps some more cooperators and volunteers in the matter, cause there are now 6 fields, but some more need to be edited. It are 3600, it are a lot, if you've to do it alone. After this process more refined researches would be possible.

Another theme now becomes merging Inana's List in the presentation, then not only the Museum of Alexander becomes part of the research processes, but also foreign links, which offer material in the web. Another process will become to research further links in the web, which "only" offer a few cards . Actually we will change the earlier rule, that only complete deck becomes part of the process.

Well, still some work and some volunteers are desired. But after this Tarot will be presented in the web better than art history ....

One should see, that such an installation raises the whole topic of "Tarot" in the public orientation. Tarot gets a serious background. That has some worth, although we also think, that one shouldn't forget the humorous aspects :-), especially not the Bavarian Animal Tarot.

Search "Bavaria" :-)

Huck, I have problems with the search function and with the left-hand side-bar... perhaps it is simply with Safari (which I use).

The earlier versions were fine, so am not sure what has occured.
