Would a Franciscan wear a decorated belt & purse? Did they not follow the lead of St. Francis in 'throwing away their purses', and would they not have worn a simple rope as girdle/belt rather than a decorated (leather?) belt... ?

Are there any French examples of a Hermit with a girdle-purse (or any other type)?

"Then he said unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it and likewise his provision bag; and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."óLuke 22:36

Could explain the knife in the Vievil.

Maybe this one Tarot Hermit wasn't associated to the Franciscans/Capucins. Well, he has a lantern, but the colors don't indicate a monk.
