Card Making Software - Is there any?

karen0205

Does anyone know of any software that will let you make yoru own cards by scanning your artwork? I've seen some on e-bay but they didn't get too specific with what you could actually do with the software and it was very expensive. There has to be some out there somewhere! Thanks for any replies! Hi Bad_Calvin, thanks for the link for the card making software. The only problem is that as far as I can tell, you can't download the program and use it yourself. You have to upload all you stuff to their website and they print out the card for you. I would like the program to put on my own computer. What happens if you have half a deck finished and they close the website or delete that program? I know there's one out there somewhere! I just have to find it!!! Thanks again.

Well what you might want to do is create a template with some art software.
Then put the template over the images you are going to use.

You can get a very nice free photosuite at gimp.org

QuickCards

You might want to take a look at this - its trial software to work with their blank cards and its quite easy to use. Unfortunately, it only does standard size cards (not Tarot size).

Quick Cards

I have the software, Quick Cards. I paid for the registration over a year ago.
I did contact them about tarot size cards, and was told they are in the process of making one.

Bookmark that web site and check it every so often.

Edited to add; You can download the simple software and create an entire deck. BUT, you have to register it to be able to print it. They also sell the card to print your deck on.

That's good news. I've played around a bit with the software and its very easy to import good-quality images. Let's just hope that they give an option of tarot-sized cards with or without a patterned back. Definately something I'd purchase.

Try GIMP

Try GIMP ( http://www.gimp.org/ .) GIMP is an open source Photoshop clone. I like it because you have a great deal of learning resources, such as:

1. Beginning GIMP: From Novice to Professional

2. Gimp 2 for Photographers: Image Editing with Open Source Software

My favorite, of course, is Adobe Photoshop ( http://www.adobe.com ). I designed a 3D Tarot deck (http://www.v-tarot.com, I post the URL so you know what I am talking about) and I used Adobe Photoshop and 3DS Max.

That’s my 2 cents.

I have a question,
Those who have registered with this, do you like the program? I am considering registering my copy, but was hesitant. Did anyone order the cards from them or made a set of cards off of this?

I not only have a tarot deck idea, but I also like the sports card angle on it because I can make "wrestling trading cards" for my fiance and the other wrestlers for our fed.

Just curious, any thoughts on the program itself? Do you like or dislike it?
