Lunatic Spread?

Kiti von Absinthe

I just recently got my first set of cards. I picked up Patrick Valenza's Deviant Moon deck, which included a map for the Lunatic Spread. It starts off with a card at the 9 o'clock position, and works around anti-clockwise into a 10 card spread. Each position is a different factor:

Card 1 (9 o'clock position): The Inquirer, Present Day
Card 2: Past Influences
Card 3: Subconscious Influences
Card 4: Secret Desires & Wishes
Card 5: Hidden Forces
Card 6: Events Yet to Come
Card 7: Surrounding Environment
Card 8: Influences of Others
Card 9: Spiritual Forces
Card 10: Final Outcome

Does anyone else use this spread, or any variation of it? What do you think about it?

odd name for it, though...

Kiti von Absinthe

Very interesting name, indeed. It was created by Patrick Valenza who has a very different style. He's quite a bit morbid, which is why not many care for his decks.

I'm just starting to read tarot, do you think it's a bad idea to start right off doing a 10 card spread?

I also like this spread that came with the Deviant Moon tarot deck. It's kinda like a Celtic Cross with a few extra interesting meanings. The spread does go in a counter clockwise starting at 9 o clock.
