Andrea Vitali

Huck

Andrea Vitali has written and published in the last year online quite a lot articles about some "really new" findings in Tarot research.

The articles were first written in Italian and then (for the moment only partly) to English. The translation work is still running, occasionally it is fighting with English language, which means, that some errors might sometimes cause misunderstandings (Andre Vitali is happy about each correction)

NONETHELESS: This are often very worthwhile contributions and those, who wish to be informed about actual discussions of real Tarot history are advised to have an eye on the development. This is great material.

For the moment there are the following English articles:

My heart has become a Tarot...

My heart has become a Tarot
goes Fool around in the world, oh wicked fate
together with the Angel, the Sun, the Moon and the Star.
Wondering it escapes from the inflamed house
despises the Devil and calls death
and desires to end hanged its life.
The Hermit lights its path until the Wheel
strongly leads it in the hands of Love
because only the Chariot always triumphs.
Temperance, the Popes and the Magician,
surround all round my heart
so that the game of tarots
is made for your love.

Andrea Vitali's commentary is splendid to read! I liked seeing a kind of Bolognese Tarocchino pattern in the ordering...Thank you...

It's great that you mention this. I love this website!

Some of the articles on the website are in the book Vitali edited in 2010 for Lo Scarabeo, Il Castello dei Tarocchi. For about 5 seconds I was annoyed that I could have gotten much of the information in the book for free online instead of paying a fortune to have the book mailed from Italy. But the book is so gorgeous and lavishly illustrated that I'm not sorry at all I spent the money.

I couldn't find anything about the book on Lo Scarabeo's website, so I bought it from deastore.com. They're a huge online bookstore based in Rome that has tons of Tarot books.
