I figure if someone likes the smaller cards and some of the older images they can buy the mass market edition. :) I want the big, new ones so I can really drink in your scrumptious details, and am really looking forward to seeing the new images as you share them.

i love Ciro's art so much, that i want all the sizes and editions of ALL his decks.:p .. The larger LE's and the smaller MM's fit all my moods:

Smaller for shuffling a lot... larger for gazing, meditating, and drooling a lot...

I'm so excited about this! I put off buying the mass market edition Gilded because I read somewhere else on here that you were considering re-vamping it. I am super super super excited. Your work it truly amazing, and I find that I am provided with ample food for thought with all of the images you have let us sneak peek.

Congrats Ciro! Definitely will be getting this!

Ciro's works are in the same category as Carol Herzer.

'We' want 'them' because of what and who they represent.....

Size, art, card stock, reads well, just does it !!! Oh, baby, we are hooked.

Slightly OT, I got word of the Oracle as well. Ah Bliss

Ciro your decks are my favorite! At this time the only deck I have is your Gilded deck (that was my first deck and it remains my favorite) - I turned my friend onto your artwork and she has your Legacy of the Divine and after seeing them 'in person' I'm convinced I need them too. Your new oracle deck is even making me consider buying my first oracle deck. :)
I look forward to buying your re-vamped Gilded deck - it looks amazing! I may have small hands but I've learned to deal with size for the artwork on cards before but what I have to ask about is the card stock, will it be any thicker than it was with the original deck? Once I get my psychic energy all over them I want them to last forever! lol- I'd pay a couple of extra bucks if it meant the artwork and card edges lasting longer :)

I plan for this version is to be similar to the my Oracle thats just been released, namely slightly larger card size, as indicated in the reference images, the card stock will be more rigid than the standard version, and it will also have gold edging.

I totally agree about the size, you want small, get the existing version.
I am put in my place  Oh well. It's beautiful (didn't think the original Devil could get any hotter!), I'll bear it in mind when I need Tarot placemats ;)

Mea culpa, mea culpa. Just my own little quirk. If I wanted to shuffle pieces of paper the size of paperback novels, then I would. If they're called "cards", then I assume them to be card-sized and actually handle-able (ie, usable).

Clearly I'm in the minority. So I'll content myself with the mass-market when I decide to tackle it again, and bow out of the thread now.

Beautiful cards, Ciro. I know they'll be a big hit. xo

I don't think you are necessarily in the minority. It does seem to be an issue shared by many. And I have personally received many e-mails and requests on that point.

However what makes the matter more confusing is of course that I don't think there is a standard card size in the sense you suggest. I know there is in the standard playing card i.e. poker/casinos etc, but in the case of Tarot there have been numerous variations over the years.

Many decks do have a similar size, especially when they come from the same publishers, but that isn't because they (the publishers) attempt to cater to the smaller hands and convenience of shuffling of their customers, its because the size of their cards is the most economic way to produce them, namely they can print them all on the one sheet.

When I or anyone else self publishes, then I can choose to override those economics for other criteria. That will inevitably cost me some customers who simply will reject them based on their size,(or the higher costs) but that is'nt wrong of them either, its just another example of the diversity and impossibility of getting it right for everyone.
