Aquarius,11th house and wishes

Belatrix

It is usually said that Aquarius and 11th house have something to do with wishes. What kind of wishes are present here?
This is a very interesting subject.I guess that each sign or house has something for wishing. But,wishes are only mentioned in the case of 11th house and Aquarius,so they must be some special wishes.
Does anybody know what kind of wishes are the wishes of Aquarius?

I don't know any-thing about it, but I do believe that the Tarot card The Star is related to Aquarius. It's some-times called 'the wishing card'. I don't know if that helps at all, lol. Sorry.

The House of the Future

Hopes, Wishes, The Dream of a Better Tomorrow, Progress, and all things related to the Future all fall into the Realm of Aquarius and the 11th House.

Why is it called the House of Friends then? Well, it helps to think of the 11th house as the house of "like-minded individuals". And in many cases they are very unique. People with a strong 11th house influence feel like outsiders until they find there special group of people. Those who think like us, our "scene" -- the "cool club". Our Peers and Associates. And it's these peers and associates, and other people we spend our time with who help us create our future. You've heard of people "hanging out with the wrong crowd" or the oft accompanying "s/he'll come to no good end", right? Well it's that same idea of the future being determined by our actions now.

You can see how one's 'crowd' or 'scene' segues into one's political opinions, and and how politics is intimitely involved with creating the future -- Aquarius' activism toward a Utopian Society is well known -- but did you think about how it relates to Uranus' rulebreaking or Aquarius' stubborn individuality?

I see it as being tied into the idea of "following your dream" -- close to "wishing upon a star" but with more action -- As Uranus' helps us to dare to go against the status quo and Saturn, also ruler of Aquarius, helps us to hold true to our principles and follow the long steady path (to the future).
If we are not true to ourselves now, we have no future, or at least a future that is not ours.

Speaking of the future, Uranus, Aquarius, and the 11th house have a strong tie to technology and advancement as well. If there is a house of Science Fiction, this would be it. I like to think of the Archetype of Aquarius as that of the Alien Grey. People with strong Aquarian tendencies often literally feel like they're from a different world -- they feel "more advanced" or "more evolved" and can't understand why the silly humans still do things in the backwards way that they do. They don't like the messy details that are involved with being human, physically and emotionally. Think of the white walls of the stereotypical alien lab, or the clean room at the JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratories) satellite-assembling facility (or a computer chip processing plant) and you get the idea. Emotion-wise, think of a Vulkan on Star Trek, or an Asgard (alien grey again) on Stargate and you get a feel for how aloof and cold other's can think of Aquarian energy. (January-February *is* the coldest time of year for most of the world) The Aquarians see nothing wrong with their intellectually advanced state, and wish the humans would hurry up and realize this is the better, more sophisticated, fairer, ideal way of doing things.

Of course the other humans just think these 'aliens' among us are utterly bizzare, eccentric and weird. In the worst cases they are cast out for speaking of their unique vision. In the best they are hailed as Genuises.

The pagan Holiday of Imbolc falls in the middle of the sign of Aquarius, and while more commonly known as "Groundhog Day", it is the idea of a brighter (literally) future coming in the future. For it is during Aquarius' reign that the Days begin to get noticably longer, and we finally have the Hope for an end to the cold long nights of winter.

I hope this helps to illustrate how Aquarius, the 11th house, and Uranus interrelate to weave these egalitarian, individualistic, stubborn, unpredictable, avant garde, revolutionary energies into a (semi-)coherent whole.

P.S. One thing I ought to mention is that the energies of the 11th house often do not appear until middle-age in a chart. Planets in the 11th house are late-bloomers. Many with strong 11th houses are known for what they did later as opposed to earlier in life. The 11th house is the house of the harvesting of energies, after the accomplishment of the 10th, and before the dissolution of the 12th.
This later-in-life idea ties in nicely with the realm of Politics and activism, as politics is a not a career for the young. This is diametrically opposed to the 5th house: the house of Children and the Eternal Now.

exceptions to rules

Very good Voron. Thanks for your opinion.
Exceptions to rules are always very attractive. Two of them come to my mind in this moment.First is Virgo, which is the only intelectiual sign among intravertes(earth and water signs),and Aquarius which is the only intraverte among extravertes.
Here we have the situation.Air sign and house, ruled by Uranus and eventually Saturn, but at the same time the position for loners. And at the same time there is no doubt a connection with water.By this I mean the glypht of Aquarius that is represented by water bearer. This is getting more and more interesting.
That connection of 11th house with future gives us a though that there must be some connection of Aquarius to Saturn( the master of delays).
Herman Hesse once mentioned that Aquarius is wet and dark sign.Alright,we might understand why it is wet.But why dark?
Back to wishes. And hopes. We could look at positions ruled by aquarius in charts and see where are our wishes directed.Maybe.Lets see where Aquarius crosses cusp of some house.Where is Uranus there. And what is placed in 11th house. Those might be the spots of our deepest hopes.
The thought of Saturn occupies my mind more and more, when it is the case of Aquarius.Because Uranus is electrical and ever changing.Odd and different. But there is a characteristic in Aquarius that is some thing more then that. The relation to Saturn, the dark quality,as Hesse mentioned.
Exceptions to rules make this world more then just a boring place.

Another view of the 11th house

There is another way to consider the 11th house and how it works within your chart -- we can use what is called a "Derivitive House" technique. In this way we can see how the 11th house interacts with the rest of your chart. In doing this we can discover more information about the 11th house.

The 11th house is the 2nd house of the 10th house -- in other words, if we pretended that the 10th house was actually the first house, then the actual 11th house would be its 2nd house. It takes a minute or so to get this form of displacement clear in your mind.

As the 2nd house, countirng from the 10th house, you gain an appreciation and sense of value about your work and place within society. You feel comfortable in knowing your place and value and as a result you can see what the future may be able to offer you.

As the 3rd house, counting from the actual 9th house, you can think and plan for the future, gather information and prepare yourself for effectively talking with others and gaining their understanding.

As the 4th house, counting from your actual 8th house, the actual 11th house in your chart is where you can evaluate the security and values that you want to surround yourself with in later years. You may want to work and save now so that you will be comfortable later.

As the 5th house, counting from your actual 7th house, you realize here how you can share your good fortune, be creative and help others to gain some of the things they need in their lives. This builds friendship when you are willing to give and to receive.

As the 6th house, counting from your 6th house, you relaize the value of being open to serving others. The skills and empathy you have developed and been given can be shared productively, and can be used to encourage others to help themselves.

As the 7th house, counting from your 5th house, you realize that partners and teamwork can lead to great creative relationships that help young and older people in your life, help to enrich your community, and yourself.

As the 8th house, counting from your 4th house, you take lessons from your younger years and family life and find ways to leverage these ideas. You may have to sacrifice or accept the short end of the bargain in the beginning, but faith and an investment of self/time will pay off in the long run.

As the 9th house, counting from your 3rd house, you have opportunities to both explore opportunities through the experience of others as well as to give information and to guide others with your skills and knowledge. Its a give and take world, and balance assure you get what you need.

As the 10th house of your 2nd house, the 11th house offers to show you how to use your skills and awareness to gain any goal that you choose to pursue. This is where your personal character strengths will be seen by others and admired -- these personal strengths will draw the help you need to succeed.

As the 11th house of your 1st house, you have to express your social obligations and follow thru on promises made. This is where you prove your depth of character.

As the 12th house of your actual 12th house, your actual 11th house is how and where you show yourself as being ready to change, to grow, to become more than you are now.

As the 1st house of your 11th house -- the 11th house itself -- you have now reached an understanding of how and why this is the house of the future, of growth that should be achieved, of your place in the community and the security it gives you to move foreward. The 11th house has obligations to yourself and to others that you must find positive ways to express. It will offer you personal growth as well as an opportunity to help others around you. As such, this house is very "universal", very honest, very proud, very "Aquarian" in its nature. Dave
