Lenormand (36) and Decans/Decanates

cardlady22

I'm not sure whether this thread belongs here or in Astrology . . .

Has anyone ever equated the Lenormand cards with the 36 decans/constellations of the zodiac? I know that most of the books and websites are in French or German, so I'm just looking for a yes or no answer.

ETA: So I can find this at a later time.

Given the timing, go with the scheme Ben Dykes outlined. They were called 'faces' then.

Decans didn't get properly invented until around the time Alan Leo re-wrote astrology (early 20th century), which is well after the Lenormand was invented. So if you want to use astrology with it, use the Renaissance/medieval/ancient variety - the rulerships are all different, in case you didn't notice.

But I don't use astrology at all with the 36-card Lenormand. Do use it with the Eltynne (created by one of her students originally), and that has the assignments right on the cards.
