ISO: Crystal Book

I am looking for a great beginner crystal book from basic types of crystals to what they can be used for and anything else a started would need to learn.

I have a friend in Cali who has a natural ability and connection with crytals and I keep trying to get her to take a deeper look into them. Since I am going to be mailing her some stuff here shortly I thought I would try to find a book that would help her here.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I found this one in the bargain bin at Barnes & Noble!

Healing Crystals and Gemstones: From Amethyst to Zircon by Dr. Flora Peschek-Bohmer and Gisela Schreiber.

It's pretty comprehensive:

--how stones are created
--geometry of stones
--hardness, light refraction
--forms of gemstones (rough vs. tumbled, etc.)
--Astrological sign association
--healing properties
--myths
--how to heal certain ailments with crystals

I rather like it. Check your local B&N (it would be on one of those tables in the front, near the registers), or they may have it on the B&N website. It's about $10.

While there's a few errors and inconsistances people will mention, the Crystal Bible is packed with information and refrence material. It's what my mom and I got started with and it was wonderful.
