Dixit, an inspiration game or an oracle???

Dixit and Self-Reflection

In response to some people having trouble to use Dixit cards as an Oracle, I suggest taking a look at symbolon.com (NOT related to the wonderful Symbolon Deck!!)

They use an approach of self-reflection on artworks (paintings).
For a specific use case on this topic, see http://www.symbolon.com/landscape, but please take a look on their blog as well if you know the german language (http://www.symbolon.com/blog/) because it contains the more generic use cases.

I think each Dixit card is a small work of art, and maybe this self-reflection approach is more suited to it...

Warm regards,
Patrick

Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for the link ! My kind of text !! It reminds me a bit of an exercise in one of Mary Greer's books in which she invites the reader to enter the card and talk to the character, feel the weather, etc... Will definitely read with care !!

Yes, I can see them work in this kind of context.

However, I rarely read for myself, and for self-reflection, I have different tools. That's not to say I won't ever try the Dixit cards for that.

The original game concept by the way works great and the whole family loves it.

Thanks for the link. I wish I could understand German, because that page seems to have a lot of valuable information.

That is exactly what I was thinking about when you PM about this deck. The book 21 ways to read a card( I don't know if that is the exact title) is loaded with ideas that are applicable to practically any image.
Hope you are progressing with it.

Dixit 4 is out! I just got them today. Very challenging to the intuitive reader.

I just received the Dixit extension pack. Thought I would give it a shot, as an oracle. I will start with daily draws and see how it goes...We'll see! ;)

New Dixit Pack

I just got my Dixit Deck #6, it is called Daydreams. It contains 84 cards like the other sets, but these are illustrated by a different artist, and the cards are quite different in color and in the imaginery. At first look I feel they are going to be more difficult to interpret in the readings, but now that I am practicing with the other sets, I know that my intuition will pick the message, no matter how strange the image may be.

Hope to see some of you around doing reading with Dix It. Blessings.

I Love Dixit Cards

I have all 8 decks and I use them for divination.
I use the Celtic Cross spread and intuitively divine the meanings.
I've had some surprises. There was one card that I could not imagine what it would mean in a reading, but when it came up the meaning was obvious from the context. It kept showing up in different readings with the same meaning.

I would love to discuss the different decks and the specific cards and their meanings in readings.

The latest deck is beautiful, mythic and folkloric.
The Libellud site offers pdf sheets showing the cards of each deck in the "downloads" section for the decks.
