I just finished reading Le Gall's book this morning. The atrocious (or at best uneven) translation remained irksome throughout, but not to the point of giving up. I'd be curious what someone who can read the original would make of it. I found the pithy observations on the court cards and the pips to be the best part; I suspect (although I haven't looked) that they owe much to cartomantic meanings. I also liked the fact that the trump card interpretations were broken down into "business" and "emotional" contexts, although they too were quite brief. I will keep this handy when using my TdM decks, and will take a look at Volume II.
