There's a Physics Tarot now....

sapienza

I read through this thread thinking 'a physics tarot - definitely not my thing', and then I clicked on the link and had a look. How very intriguing! The images are sparce but I feel like they draw you in. Something about it makes me want a copy for myself.

I hated Physics (failed spectacularly) and this is my chance to get my revenge! A Physics Tarot. The only way that Physics can be fascinating.

You were taught badly then. Physics is deeply fascinating as is mathematics. Really. Even when it is very hard and mind blowing it is still fascinating.

As for beautiful equations here's some pretty ones

Think comatose :D

If the LWB is as well written as his explanations in person, then it's definitely exciting.....of course, it WAS the wee hours of the morning....and there was wine,....})

I rediscovered it, the most beautiful equation in the world is reputedly Euler's Formula but comes under Mathematics rather than Physics.

Yes, Aerin, I was badly taught Science, but then I think Science (and Physical Education) are almost always badly taught!

Euler's equation is a sort of Temperance, I think, because it combines some seemingly incompatible things very, very simply.

I feel the same way about my school PE as you do about physics. Boring. If someone brought out a PE tarot I would run for the hills -well, unless I could get my mum to write a note.

Have a poster

and a black hole game http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/en/kids/blackhole/index.shtml# to go with the Death card ;)

See, this how I prepare for the deck... what with this, the Science tarot and the new Quantum I will be scienced up!!!

ETA: Oh no!!! Now there are mugs and so-on http://mathematicianspictures.com/Euler_shirt_poster_mug.htm

*aghast* oh no! not... mugs!

I must have been taught VERY badly I think. I never did physics at school but I do find it fascinating. Mathematics however still scares me. Just reading the word equation and then clicking on some of those links and seeing things like 'cos' and 'sin' makes me go into a cold sweat. I'm sure it is beautiful, but I just never got it!

I'd still do maths over PE though!!!

<grin> I looked at it and I appreciate its complexity, but it's still not quite beautiful enough for me to consider it suitable to have tattooed on the side of my neck ...
