Ordering of the Majors in the Original Mythic Tarot?

Madrigal

I bought this as an app to see what the fuss was all about and to see whether I might then want to try and track an actual deck down. The app orders the Majors in a very unusual way ::

The Fool
The Magician
The Empress
The Emperor
The High Priestess
The Hierophant
The Lovers
The Chariot
Justice
Temperance
Strength
The Hermit
The Wheel of Fortune
The Hanged Man
Death
The Devil
The Tower
The Star
The Moon
The Sun
Judgement
The World

So, question for folks who own the actual, original Mythic Tarot, is this how the Majors are ordered or is this the a function of the app?

Hi, Madrigal!

I have the original Mythic deck and, yes, that is how the Majors are
ordered in the companion book. However, you could actually reorder
them in any way you prefer, since none of the Majors have numbers
on the cards.

I believe there is a rhyme and reason for the ordering, but I no longer
have the companion book or remember the details for "why". I seem to
recall the High Priestess being numbered next to the Hierophant because
they are a "pair" in the way the Emperor and Empress are a pair. Also,
mythologically speaking, Demeter as the Empress comes before her daughter
Persephone, the High Priestess.

That's about the extent of my help. :)

Thanks RRD. I noticed on the app that the cards aren't numbered so I figured they could be switched up with an actual deck. I do like the pairing of the HP and the Hierophant as I've always felt their relationship is a strong one. And your description of Demeter as the Empress coming before Persephone as the HP makes sense. I wonder if the new version retains the same order.
