OSWALD WIRTH TAROT!!! (new to forum!)

gregory

Bear in mind that Wirth only did the majors. Any minors are added long after the event.

Given that Adam McLean's excellent reproduction is now sold out, as is the excellent L'Aigle version, the MOST authentic you will find is the set of punch out cards in the back of the book Tarot of the Magicians.

If you want a 78 card deck, your best bet is the Muller one rather than the U S Games one, IMHO. But others may disagree.

Hello everyone!
I want to ask what is the most authentic Tarot of Oswald Wirth:

1)http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oswald-Wirt...t=UK_Metaphysical_New_Age&hash=item43c5dafae9

2)http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Oswald-...7653268?pt=AU_Books_Audio&hash=item234a22d994

or another;;;

After this (http://blog.goo.ne.jp/valet_de_coupe/e/647e927f888267ad2fe9b29b47603921) there is no commercially, another should be the authentic ...

PS: Sorry for the mistakes. I do not know English very well.

Thank you!

The book contains the tarot as shown on the cover of the book;
Do you know?

Yes it does. The 22 cards are included in the back - you can punch them out.

The U S Games deck is perfectly OK - though Wirth was long dead when it was published. But you said you wanted the MOST authentic. The one in the book is authentic - and I was wrong - the other really authentic one I know of is still for sale here. I thought it was sold out.

Any "Wirth" deck with 78 cards is not the one Wirth created.

I searched and found that the two deck Wirth made the first of 1889 and the second in 1926! The second is based on the first and it is encountered on the decks today! (As in US Games- only major arcana)

Just because he made two deck I found in the book: tarot of the magicians page: 227 here:

This is the deck of 1926:

I think the mystery is solved!

And as it says on the bibliography link, the 78 card deck is based on "the new images of Michel Simeon."

Yes the 1926 deck is beautiful. Editions l'Aigle in Canada did a very fine repro of that, but as far as I know it is now out of print.

But what MYSTERY is solved here? This was all fairly well known....
