RWS Tarot 101 Three of Cups

Three of Cups

I have to admit this is one of my favorite cards by Smith. I have three daughters, one was born on Halloween. This card reminds me of the joy of seeing them together.

When I look into the Three of Cups I see three women celebrating each others company. One is wearing red (passion, desires), one in white (purity, innocence), the last in yellow (intellect, contentment). There are fruits, vegetables, and a single pumpkin at their feet. This represents to me that this is a time of bounty, times are good. They stand facing each other with their cups raised for a toast. How happy they look.

Direct: Time for celebration, engagement/marriage, time to spend with family/friends

Reversed: Withdrawal from others, “workaholic”, unable to share happiness with others, longing for the “good times”

That's very interesting!

I draw this card VERY often. It seems like this card always ends up representing my two close friends and I. All three of us are each other's closest friends. We always end up hanging out together at the end of every day. It's a time for us to relax, have fun, and to share the events of our day. When I think about us as friends from a third person perspective I tend to relate the image I get to this card easily.

(Just thought I would share since no one else posted on this thread!)

I noticed yesterday in the RWS that the three women in 3 cups are not mindlessly capering about...two of them hold their cups crossed to one another, cutting off the third who holds her cup high. And one of the two ladies has rather sneaky mean eyes if you look closely. Do you see this or am I transferring some deeply buried paranoia?
.

Any thoughts on this?

No, the printing process could have that effect in the eyes..I see no sence of sneakiness in this card at all. When people are dancing about and drinking, I am surprised the liquid is still in the cups and the are still standing ;)

When the card is upright perhaps it could mean emotional growth in whatever area the seeker was asking about and when reversed emotional blockages...
