GT Question

I second the idea of scanning (how about the entire spread?), now just some wild guesses.

Scythe between them can be a strong and quick connection, two people that can read eachother's mind. When he comes home stressed out, she's the first to notice just how big this will influence the 'quality time' with the family.
Which card is in the Scythe's house?

The Woman should describe the most important female. If they have a strong marriage, even in a work spread, the Woman probably represents his wife.

I haven't had much time to read through this thread since my last post, but I will do so, after I post this. I took a picture of it to include here below, but I will also list the card numbers as layed out in the 4 row/8 cards + 5th row of 4 cards below. I appreciate everyone's input here. I did talk to them for a little while today and I got some fb on part of it--but we didn't get through it all yet--and I told them I wasn't yet done, which I'm not. I plan to go through my book by Rana George and try to find what else I need to do, and also look at all the links and advice that was offered here too.

So, here are the cards as they were layed out:

18 11 05 08 01 36 27 32

26 02 29 35 12 25 10 23

20 06 14 34 30 21 16 07

15 31 33 19 04 13 28 22

09 17 24 03

So, since I am reading this for a man, I originally went for the position of card 28, which is in the House of Sun. I see this as indicating he is very pleased and doing very well currently in his position at work. Things are going well for him at work presently. (they are)

Next, I see where the Fox card is, as this is the focus of the reading: work
It is in the House of Tower. Where he works is deep in the country side, and not very visible to the general population or businesses. So, I am taking it as being far out in the middle of nowhere's land. I also find the card that is shared with the Fox and the Man card, which is card #16(stars) in the house of Mice. I read this as showing that his hopes are going to be somewhat drained due to a stressful situation. I noticed next to the star card was a Snake card--in the House of Heart. I took this to mean that the stressful situation would happen as a result of a person whom he took as a friend, and the friend will turn against him or possibly lay some blame for a stressful situation at his feet.
(when I spoke this morning to them, this was confirmed as just happening yesterday! Something happened at work, and the 'friend' was approached by his boss and reprimanded for something he didn't do properly. That 'friend' went and told the rest of the crew that it was all due to my family members actions, though it wasn't. So, I got that right on the mark! :) ). The boss found out that my family member was being blamed and again approached this 'snake' and told him to go back and tell his crew the truth, and then boss c. my family member to let him know what was said and how he took care of it. So, it was corrected, but my family member is still upset by it all.

Then, I read all the cards L to R in Row 4. All that is to the L of card 28 (man) is what happened in the past, and to his right (one card) is what is to come in the very near future--a 1--so 1 day, 1 week, 1 mo or 1 yr. So, in the past, it seems that he (my family member) has been able to change things for the better at work and it has made some great changes in the company that have been for the better. Providing security and and new growth in the company. (my family member is in a position of leadership at his company)today, I did learn that he has done this and was recently recognized by his superiors for doing such a good job--that he actually saved this area from having any layoffs. The company in other states layed off 40 employees in 4 other states, and not one cut from this site--due to my family members working and getting his crews (he is in charge of the working of many crews there)to do their work w/little error and w/in the 40 hour work week, thus not requiring much overtime-if any at all). so, in a sense, he saved jobs and in fact, proved that his site is doing better work then the other 4 sites in the other states--and was able to get the company to allow him to hire 10 new people! The last card beside the man, is card #22 (Crossroads) in the House of the Moon. This indicates to me that he is facing a decision that he has to make within a 1 (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year) that will be emotional for him to make. Since this Moon card is also under the snake card and no card is positioned below it, I feel that it is indicating that the future is uncertain but it will have to do with this snake of a person who is lying, (he's lied a few times before and has gotten other guys in trouble in the recent past, resulting in 1 guy being fired).

Then, I began to read the cards directly above #28 (man card) which are 27, 10, & 16 and read these cards as he is hoping (card #16/Stars in House of Mice) that the lies will be found out and cut out the bullshite- and dealt with properly by their superior (card #10 scythe in House of Bear). (I see the Bear as the big boss that is over the snake and has some input with my family member's position too).

Then, I thought I should read the vertical and horizontal lines for the Fox card, as that was the focus of the reading. So, I notice the Fox card is in the House of Tower as noted above. The horizontal line has cards 20, 06, 14, 34, 30, 21, 16, and 07. Cards #20 and 06 are the past. #20/Garden in house of Stork and 06/Clouds in house of Dog shows that a new start was at first met with happiness and shared support by others at work. (My family members promotion to the leadership role earlier this year). However, the clouds in the house of Dog has the dark clouds next to the Garden card, showing that a friend proved to not be such a friend after all. (true--it did occur). But, that was the past - long past and things are improving currently for him. Cards #34/Fish in House of Garden, #30/Lilies in the House of Mountain, Card #21/Mountain in the House of Crossroads, Card #16/Stars in House of Mice and Card #07/in the House of Hearts indicate that my family member will be rewarded by the group and honor will be restored after a uphill fight. That a difficult decision is made that will prove the lies as being wrong, thus again giving my family member the place of honor once again. (reading each card in order L-R).

Then, I also read the 4 corner cards--Card #18 in House of Rider, Card #32 in House of Coffin, Card #15 in House of Ring, and Card #22 in House of Moon.

Now, I haven't had the chance to tell my friend this, but it seems that my family member will hear good news from a friend that could end his current employment but possibly in a good way (Card #32 is Moon), recommending him for a new position/contract that will put him in a bigger, more prestigious position at the company and my family membre is going to have make a decision about whether or not to accept it---which will be a positive turn of events.

now, in the past, the VP of the company has recognized my family member as doing a great job and mentioned he would like to have him in a particular position when that position comes available. The current employee in that position has been there for about 23 years and is retiring in another 2 years, at which time my family member may still be offerend this again. When hte VP of the company mentioned this to him earlier this year, my F.M. was very honored by the recommendation but told us all that he is not going to expect the VP to remember in 2yrs - even though he hopes he will remember him & won't hold him to it. Nothing is written down about this offer--but maybe it will come sooner then 2yrs. or perhaps it will come months before the retirement happens, so that my F.M. can be trained for the position.

and, lastly, I looked at the bottom four cards, #09/Bouquet, #17/Stork, #24Heart & #03/Ship.

#09 is in the House of Key, indicating that good things are coming through for my Family Member that he is hoping and wishing for. That a new start offering a better situation for him, (possibly increase in salary too) is possible and that he will be thrilled with this new position that will prove to be a positive, stable and secure position, but that it could also indicate moving to an area that he isn't very thrilled about. (a new location from where he currently resides).

However, being that it is my f.m. I can also be looking at this with a skewed sense of bias. So, ANY ideas or advice will be gladly received. Now, its late, I'm tired, but I will also go through all that was already advised in this thread and take a look at the posted threads to look at and add that to my reading too, if I feel it is in order.

I thank all who have responded and will continue to check back here and update as I can and after I continue to speak to my family member on this situation.

ETA: yikes!! I really screwed up the positions of the cards here. Partly the nos. on these cards were always difficult to read, and so I took a black permanent marker to them, to try and trace them. But, the creator of this deck also put swirlies in the numbers--making them fancy that my magic marker and I just couldn't quite make it appear like the crisp looking number I prefer on cards. I misread the card number as a result in laying out above. It is NOW CORRECTED!.

so sorry for the huge inconvenience this caused. So glad Barleywine mentioned that the cards weren't making sense, seeing I had things listed in two different positions, etc. ME BAD!!!

Now, I didn't mention anything to him about the woman card at this point. Her card #29 is in the House of Whip, indicating some issues here. She is having some terrible health issues at this point in her life--could this be what I'm reading?

To her left is Card #02 in the house of Scythe, telling me in the past she has had sharp pains, (which I know is true). Card #35 to her right is the Anchor card in the House of Birds, which could indicate news coming to her that her health issue is not curable and Card #05 above her in House of Ship shows that she will have to become a vegan to maintain her health (which she is considering) and below her is card #14/Fox in the House of Tower-needing a specialist. (she has seen a few specialists, to no avail--and is hoping to go to another specialist as soon as she can get an appointment for such).

The common card between her and her hubby is #10/scythe in the House of Bear indicating that a huge operation may be required in the stomach area and require her to be careful w/her diet/nutrition, (which she is already and has been forever) and weight management OR perhaps it is showing that she is cutting out even more foods then before as she finds out other foods are harming her as well.

This has me very worried for her. I feel lots of trouble ahead of her w/this and perhaps this is why the ship card in the house cross is showing up for her hubby. He may not want to move when the offer is made as her health may be in a precarious situation and relocating would mean having to find another specialist and starting over again--which could also not be that great for her health.

So, any ideas on this part too, will be good. I know when I first saw scythe as the common card, I was concerned about them having difficulties re:work--but after I read all these other cards, I now feel it is all about her health.

I'll lay this out tomorrow and work through it in my own style. I haven't done one in a while so it will be good practice. Stay tuned.

I see that you have the Ship in your layout twice, and no Coffin. Which position holds the Coffin? I have this set up and am starting to absorb it.

I'd like to take a look at it as well, haven't seen a GT in ages. Is it ok with you when I change it to 4x9?

4 Corners or the Pillars:

The go now...

18...32...15...22

Conflicts, choices, and/or decisions being made with work that involves, or has an effect on someone close to the situation, besides the sitter whether at home or an actual colleague etc. Could be about being rewarded, promoted, recognized or moving up in the world.

Being in control maybe something of importance as well- not being too tied down or overly bossed so as to say.

Lastly, he might be wanting to "protect" or "defend" his position or place for some reason.

There is something he feels strongly about and in a very manly way I'd say.

My 2 cents worth. :)

:) Thank you, Barleywine!!! MUCH Aprreciated!!

Yes, I thought I corrected that. My mistake. The ship is in the House of Coffin-#36. The Coffin is in the House of Clouds.

Yes, I guess that wouldn't really change the meanings. I've never done a 4 x 9 G.T. before--so it will be interesting to see what you get from this. Thank you!

Heart of the Matter:

35 (12) 12 (13) 34 (20) 30 (21)

Conversations and/or meetings are going on about work and possibly money - maybe just scratching the surface and/or in the early stages.

Either more money is needed, being asked for, or part of the negotiations. Work and money.

Nothing is final yet nor is it a time of things feeling settled just yet.

I use ANCHOR and FISH for work and finances. Bit different to the "Fox".

Will look at that too next time since it is the system you use.

Not on PC so can only do one or two lines at a time, so might not be delivered as I'd like. :)

This sounds correct for me too. My family member is overall often recognized for doing a very good job there and was already once put into a role of leadership there as a result of this too.

Another higher up official has also mentioned wanting him in yet another position in the company--which would be a good job placement for him--one he would like--but the man in the position isn't due to retire for a few more years yet. Since he is planning to retire--very doubtful he would leave it anytime sooner then when the time of retirement comes to him. Naturally, there are some people at work whom do not see eye to eye with my F.M. and that is to be expected, I guess--especially as he is in a role of leadership. You won't be popular with everyone in such a role or even not in a role of leadership either.

Currently this FM is in a position of control - the position mentioned above wouldn't be either and both positions are of importance and not overly bossed. He is trying to defend his position/place with some of the workers I guess. He does feel very strongly about the position and the work they do. He is a definitely a 'manly man'. Very much an upright King of Swords kind of guy.

Thanks for your thoughts too!
