Need help creating a general type spread

I need a smallish spread - no more than 7 cards. I want it to be general, with a steampunky/science fiction-y/fantasy theme.

One of my favorite spreads has been the horseshoe - so I might use that one, but if anyone has any ideas...

Or, if anyone is familiar with the gaslamp fantasy series "Girl Genius", something based on that would be nice.

I just can't seem to come up with anything. Mind is blank.

Sadly, I'm unfamiliar with that particular series, but I like what I've seen so far of the genre!

The Airship Gear. Cards 2-7 meant to be laid out with one short side pointing towards the center, like a circle of petals on a flower... unless that confuses people who read reversals.

1. spoke (significator, main concern)
2. era (past history, will serve as a basis for the rest of the reading)
3. The blueprint (positive thoughts/emotions)
4. The teeth (positive skills/attitudes, friends)
5. The forge (hidden threats)
6. The turn (overt obstacles and hindrances)
7. The Synthesis (most likely possible future, cobbled together from all the other cards)

optional: the lock, crossing the spoke, suggests what must be acted upon so that the Synthesis will not come to pass.
