RWS Tarot 101 Queen of Cups

Queen of Cups

When I look into the Queen of Cups of the RWS deck, I see a woman sitting on a throne holding an elaborate cup. The cup has a cover over the top telling me that her own secrets are unknown to all and maybe even to herself. Threads on the Queen's cup: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=14919 Queens Cup

Her body language tells me she is uncomfortable. I know this is not the meaning of the card, but this is what I see. She is someone who loves and cares for all she meets, and gives everything she has, but she is unable to stand alone, she needs support. I see someone who is comfortable in the world of the subconscious. She is always there for you, a counselor, friend, mother or psychic.

Direct: Mother, sensitive nurturing, emotional, gentle, loyal, may be divorced will find love latter in life when she is stronger with her opinions.

Reversed: Problems with motherhood, unfaithful, selfish, unreliable, vain, possible horrible mother-in-law/stepmother or gossip, interfering woman who exaggerates.

I wonder if this might indicate that she might be the sort of person that bottles tihngs up, internalises her emotions so to speak, and perhaps she might "store" things as such, like holding grudges in a sense. Or maybe in a sense, picking up bits and pieces here and there, and then later to be used to her advantage, getting her own back, in a matter of speaking, but leaving it to a more appropriate time, as such.

She seems to be very psychic, it would seem, and perhaps the look on her face, whether that is just being uncomfortable or sad, would have something to do with what she has "seen". I mean it must be a terrible burden to see some certain things, and whether to say what it is, or to keep it to yourself, what a terrible burden indeed!

Nostradamus, even though he is male, would be a good example of Queen of Cups, in my opinion.

I agree the burden of being psychic must wear you down, in this picture she dose look down or tired or perhaps in deep thought.

I am just looking at these cards with no questions just as artwork of a tarot card. I have had this card come up many times in readings it coming at me from all emotional directions. I consider myself a Queen of Cups both direct and reversed. Haven't really tested my psychic abilities (don't really feel that I am), but my mother was one. At times I wish I had more of the Queen of Sword in me ;) ....
