Getting boxes made

don710

Hey guys,

I notice a lot of print on-demand companies that offer tarot cards only have tuck boxes available for packaging. I want to make something a little sturdier with a lid that can be removed, like Hay House or Blue Angel's decks.

Am I being too optimistic on this? I'm sure it costs more, but if anyone has had success finding a packaging company or a print on demand service that offers good quality boxes for tarot decks, please let me know! I'd be super grateful.

Eyyy! I'm from Massachusetts too!

Anyway, I'm currently talking to these guys about a 2-part box http://allpackco.com/

Depending on what printing processes/finishes you want, it could cost more/less, but just as a ballpark for you, they're quoting me about $2-$2.50 per box at 2000 boxes, for jet black stock with black foil stamping. (nothing actually technically "printed" on the box)

I'm from the western Mass area (Northampton :)) and thanks for the heads up! This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, and they seem to have a good range of options too. My only concern is that I probably won't end up getting 2,000 boxes, and I wonder how much the price would go up if I got, say, 500. I'm also trying to remember that you were quoted for the most standard option. Still, its great to know that this is available.

this one seems popular with kickstartes https://shuffledink.com/

I think Gamecrafter have more box options?:)

I just requested a quote for shuffled. :) I've looked at gc as an option but don't think its the right fit for me. Thanks for the suggestions!

I wouldn't really consider black foil stamp to be the "most standard". Probably a plain printed box would be the standard. Foil stamping requires a physical steel die to be manufactured.

Anyway, the worst case scenario for your situation is that your total cost is the same from 2000 to 500 boxes. If it's 2000 at $2, then the worst it could cost is 500 at $8. But I doubt that it'll be that pricey!
